Plug In Your Headphones

ArtWalk is a walk through the Staatsliedenbuurt in Amsterdam which leads you along 17 store windows. In this edition the guest curator is Ki-osk. ArtWalk is open during Kunstvlaai 5 on the Westergasfabriek terrain nearby, where Ki-osk is also present with a load of products, multiples and food.

J’ee-haw! presents ‘Plug In Your Headphones/J’ee-haw! Remixed’ in the store window of Van Hallstraat nr. 31, Amsterdam. It’s an installation with headphone plugs on the outside of the two windows, through which you can listen to both cd’s of J’ee-haw! Remixed, unless you forgot to bring your own headphones of course…

J’ee-haw! Pand Paulus

J’ee-haw! exhibition organized by gallery 300procent, in Pand Paulus, Schiedam. We presented: Vrienden van J’ee-haw! Galerie Prints, J’ee-haw! Remixed and J’ee-haw! Compact Disc.

We came up with two J’ee-haw! Remixed listening cabines for this exhibition, one for each J’ee-haw! Remixed cd. And our cowboy bodybuilder billboard was also on display again, to promote J’ee-haw! Compact Disc.

At the opening of this exhibition we had a live electro accoustic performance by Roel Meelkop, one of the remixers on J’ee-haw! Remixed.

Prints

Vrienden van J’ee-haw! Galerie Prints (Friends Of J’ee-haw! Gallery Prints) is the physical manifestation of the online version. The full colour, laminated prints measure 60×60 cm. Because they are blown up from only 200×200 pixels, they have a very pixelated look.

J’ee-haw! Remixed

Some time ago J’ee-haw! released J’ee-haw! Compact Disc, a cd-r filled with long silences that occasionally get rudely interrupted by the yell j’ee-haw!

They felt it was time for a fitting encore… J’ee-haw! Compact Disc was taken apart and reconstructed by a large variety of different artists to form J’ee-haw! Remixed. Despite (or maybe thanks to) the seemingly limited audio source, J’ee-haw! Remixed became a diverse double cd-r with 29 superb remixes.

Remixers are: Freiband, Radboud Mens, Jonx, Parkside, Sasker Scheerder, Xaf, Stijn, HuMobisten featuring Der Versucher, Maga, Jesse Smale, Duo Tepláky, drbadvibes, Ios Smolders, Dion, Roel Meelkop, Quench, Boca Raton, Smoking Oil Project, E_Minus, Harco, dj Smuthound & dr. Auratheft, dj Pausa, Erik en Arjen, Kodi, Edwin van der Heide, Peter Duimelinks.

You can listen to (and download) J’ee-haw! Remixed completely overhere. But if you like what you hear, you’re better of buying this release on cd-r. The sound quality is much better, plus you get to enjoy the J’ee-haw! artwork. J’ee-haw! Remixed is available through esc.rec. for 15 euro.
