The Ticket to the Tropics party in Havenkwartier was a great start of the new year. The party looked and felt amazingly tropical. It even had a beach! And although I experienced some nasty technical difficulties (my midi-controller failed me completely), my dj-set was what it set out to be: a slightly weird tropical fiesta!

For all of you who couldn’t be there, you can download my dj-set here. Or maybe you were there, but want to hear it over and over again. Don’t worry, that’s only natural…

Ticket to the Tropics

Some time ago I had decided not to go to this smashing New Year’s party in Havenkwartier. Instead I was really looking forward to be with my wife and two kids this year. But then it hit me. Since I live literally around the corner, I can do both. After celebrating the new year at home, there’s still plenty of party left to go to.

So I’m going to take a peek anyway. I’ll just be there a bit later.

Yesterday, when the partyhosts of Ticket to the Tropics got wind of this, they put in a last-minute request for one of my tropical dj-sets. I couldn’t resist this tempting offer and am whipping one up right now. Think Copacabana, Calypso, Speed Merengue, Tropicalectronica, Cumbia and Good Vibrations…

Slowlands festival

I’m co-initiator and co-organizer of Slowlands festival in Havenkwartier Deventer. Check the complete (and very, very nice!!) programme and all other info at www.slowlandsfestival.nl.

Besides all the acts in ass-crack stage-hack #7, which is being hosted by esc.rec. in the garage next to the black silo, I’m personally also very much looking forward to seeing Loney Dear, Michael Fakesch & Tapprik Sweeze, Radion and Fata in action. I myself (Cette Truc) will also be spinning some records.

Verjaardaveaux: Acieeed!

Tomorrow (Friday, April 10) we are ready to launch the very first edition of Verjaardaveaux in Havenkwartier Deventer.

Verjaardaveaux are really cool birthdayparties, only accessible for people on the guestlist. Only the first 100 people responding to the invitation get on this guestlist. If you want to receive invitations for this guestlist, you can be added to the mailinglist by sending e-mail to mailing@havenkwartier.org.

This first edition celebrates the birthdays of Bart Folmer and myself. It will be a (somewhat oldschool) acid party. You’re in for only 5 euro and we have a surprise line-up (but I’m sure to be laying some acid on there too!). Phat acid sounds guaranteed!!

The mayhem starts at 22:00 and you have to be in before 23:00.

PIKNIK

The last outdoor PIKNIK of this season is coming up in Havenkwartier Deventer. On Sunday the 21st of September (17:00-23:00) Cette Truc, Radion and Ferdi Blankena do their minimal techno thingy. All the previous editions were great, so I’m expecting no less for this last one. This PIKNIK is co-hosted by DDS again. More info overhere. Hope to see you there!
