De Kale Zangeres

Decor, sound, design and direction assistance for theatre play De Kale Zangeres, directed by Welmoed Bruinsma. This play was performed at Odeon in Zwolle. ‘De Kale Zangeres’ (The Bald Soprano) is originally a play by Eugène Ionesco.

Flavour Magazine

Design and production of an art object for Flavour Magazine #2, a project by Mirjam van der Most.

“Flavour Magazine: publishing of a threedimensional artist publication. Ten artists are invited to make a multiple which are brought together in an A3 box, released in fifty copies. Every issue is promoted with a special presentation.”

The other nine artists in Flavour Magazine #2 were: Pauline Berkhout, Jeroen Hoekstra, Peter Leeuwerik, Linda Molenaar, Wessel Muller, Richard Niessen/HowToPlays, Harmen Sliep, Kirsty de Vries Reilingh, Xavier van Wersch.

I contributed a silk screened folding lamp-shade. The contents of Flavour Magazine #2 were presented in Plaatsmaken in Arnhem.

B.E.Z.E.T.

B.E.Z.E.T. is a light object, designed to signal if the toilet is occupied or not. Commisioned by gallery De Parel in Amsterdam. The object is made of a bottle rack and lightbulbs.

15Chemisch

Decor for theatre play ’15Chemisch’ in Jeugdtheater Hofplein, Rotterdam, directed by Cilla Rijnbeek. Youth theatre play about a murder mystery in the chemistry class room. The play got nominated for best design.

Magnetron Cro-Magnon

Decor, sound, design and direction assistance for theatre play ‘Magnetron Cro-Magnon’, directed by Welmoed Bruinsma. Location theatre, performed in the attic of Almere College in Kampen.

The script developed through improvisation with the actors, materials and location. Timon Schellingerhout wrote the dialogues. Two lonely outcasts live inside a garbage heap. The audience gets to know them with all their peculiar habits and how they survive in their chosen isolation. Slowly they get to know eachother and learn to appreciate eachother’s company.
