Flussball

The other day I sort of accidentily came in contact with Copa Classic, a t-shirt company with a massive focus on soccer. They mentioned that they are working with many different designers and are always looking for new input. So I decided to give designing a soccer inspired t-shirt a try… The idea of soccer minded people dressed in a t-shirt design by me, somehow seemed ironic (in a good way), because the game means very little to me.

That’s why I came up with Flussball (check pictures above). This (new?) German word roughly translates as ‘flood ball’ (a lot of balls), but it also sounds remarkably like fussball, which is how they say soccer in Germany.

Sadly though, Copa Classic turned down this design. Maybe I’ll try again soon… if I can find the time.

Restore I (Thonet)

‘Restore I’ is a unconventionally restorated original Thonet chair. The chair missed one leg and the round piece that joins the four legs together. The restoration was carried out in multiplex(!), carefully pieced together to form a shape that resambles the original chair as closely as can be expected from this material. The chair is also fully functional again and it is in fact one of the most comfortable Thonet chairs I have ever sat on.

‘Restore I’ is to be the first in a series of unconventional (furniture) restorations. I will also work with objects on request. Please contact me if you wish to commission ‘restoration’ of your object.

Price: 790 euro

New esc.rec. release

It has been sitting on a shelf for quite some time, but here it finally is!

ssri.jpg

The 14th esc.rec. release is ‘ssri’, Robert Witt‘s debut album. His delicate, delay driven, repetitive dubscapes are to drown in. Combined with heavily manipulated but subtle sounds, listening to this album with eyes closed can become a very visual experience. Something like submerging yourself in a relaxing warm bath, dreaming, unwilling to surface again into cold harsh reality.

Graphic design by me.

Ssri is available on cd-r for only 8 euro (as usual). You can listen to the first track overhere.
