Ki-osk and esc.rec.

Ki-osk selected some excellent designers to show their products at Kunstenlab, Deventer. The opening of this exhibition is on Thursday, January 11, 17:00 and features the pilot of a collaboration between esc.rec. and Ki-osk: exclusive sound loops by esc.rec. artists for the Ki-osk website. These loops will eventually be released by esc.rec., probably on locked groove vinyl.

The first 7 loops have been supplied by Zèbra, a somewhat hilarious project by Frans de Waard and Roel Meelkop. Starting January 11 you will be able to play with them through the Ki-osk website.

Also, I did a dj-set with the complete esc.rec. catalogue, including some tracks that are soon to be released.

Stream de Cette Truc

This New Years Eve I was at home with wife and kids. But I couldn’t resist deejaying through a live audio visual web stream to the New Years Party at WILLIE. I streamed right into the toilets to be exact…

It was a fun experience although a bit surrealistic, because I didn’t have a live feed from the WILLIE toilets back to me. So I had absolutely no idea if my tunes were appreciated and who were there… really weird. I only knew one thing for sure: the WILLIE toilets had to be crowded, because the party had sold out!

How Random – Is Random

‘How Random – Is Random’ is a screensaver installation designed for two computer screens. A large number of eastern proverbs, split in half, are randomly recombined to form new proverbs. In this case randomness often proves to be loaded with unexpected humor…

‘How Random – Is Random’ was created as part of a WILLIE exhibition in KCO, Zwolle. There are two fixed computer screens in the exhibition space of KCO, that have to stay in place and in use. I decided to use them for my own purposes and make these screens part of the exhibition.

Other participating WILLIE artists are: Babet Olde Weghuis, Bart Folmer, Elio Debets, Maaike Folmer, Margot Olde Loohuis and Patrick Mangnus. The exhibition was opened with a Jool Hul performance.

System requirements: two computerscreens positioned next to eachother and random image screensaver software (standard on Windows XP and Mac OSX). ‘How Random – Is Random’ is available on cd-r for 5 euro.
