Toegang Vrij

Toegang Vrij, Salon and Atelier Route in Deventer. The Salon shows works by local artists and takes place in the former Stamacon building in St. Olafstraat, Deventer.

J’ee-haw! participated in the Salon with a new installation: two portraits of ourselves wearing cowboy hats, both accompanied by our randomized J’ee-haw! yell. The former Stamacon building is very large, so we decided to place the two portraits and audio bursts in two seperate parts of the space that was available. This way you could here the yells echoing through the whole building and they sometimes even seemed to communicate with eachother over the great distance between them.

The atelier route is divided over 2 weekends: one for the individual ateliers and the ateliers in the surrounding area of Deventer, and one for the ateliers in the larger atelier buildings. This means I participated in the atelier route two times. Together with Jeannette Knigge in our own private atelier at home, and together with WILLIE in the IJsselhotel.

A catalogue was published about the salon.

Klapstoelen en Knipmessen

‘Klapstoelen en knipmessen’ (Folding Chairs and Pocket Knives) is an exhibition in Het Nationaal Vlechtmuseum in Noordwolde. A broad variety of folding chairs, seats, stools, snap objects and sitting tools for on the road are shown in this exhibition. The total selection is completed with a collection of pocket knives and scissors. I showed ‘Klapraspkruk’.

The museum also published a booklet on the subject, titled ‘Klapstoelen en knipmessen’ and there was a large article about the exhibition in the art section of De Volkskrant, including pictures of ‘Klapraspkruk’.

PrintROOM

J’ee-haw! was asked to participate in PrintROOM, a growing collection of artists’ printed matter.

ROOM presents a collection of magazines, artist’s books, fanzines and newspapers, filling the gap of the non-existence of a specialized place to get all sort of printed material in Rotterdam. Several editors and artists donated their material to be enjoyed by ROOM guests.”

We made a small booklet to advertise all the aspects of J’ee-haw! I hand-pixeled the image below as a centerfold.
