New website Havenkwartier

The previous website of Havenkwartier Deventer was primarily aimed at art and culture in the area and the creative businesses based there. Now that the development of the Havenkwartier area is getting up to steam, there was a need for more.

On www.havenkwartierdeventer.com you’ll find (in addition to plenty of art & culture) more information about living and working in Havenkwartier Deventer. You can also reach the ‘Culture’ section of this new website through the old domain www.havenkwartier.org.

We now say goodbye to the previous corporate identity of Havenkwartier Deventer, designed by Bart Folmer and also to the previous website, developed by me. The new corporate identity is co-created by: BestwerkStudio Wonder and Studio Bart Folmer. The new website was built by Dicode. I have only been instrumental in the development of the new website and in the decision-making process of the corporate identity.

This means I am no longer in charge of the technical aspects of the Havenkwartier website, but I am however still in charge of (half of the) content. I am now officially editor for the Culture and Recreation sections of the new website. The other editor is the municipality of Deventer. I also have (a very limited amount of) time to spend on communication and marketing for these sections.

Oh well. Interesting developments.

Studio Playlists 2010

It’s that time of the year again. Everybody who’s into music is making and/or reading lists. I usually try to keep as far away of listmaking as possible (what’s the use), but for Studio Playlists by Ron van der Ende I gladly make an exception again. It’s getting to be a yearly tradition. Check out all this great music played by artists in their studio’s again this year! My little list is here (in random order).

Check back often, because many more playlists are likely to surface here in the coming weeks. Tracking back to previous years is also interesting.

Welkom bij met!

Some time ago the illustrious linguistic duo of absurdities and explicit humor De Bubbelebim wrote a script about me. Yes. About me, Harco Rutgers. I was invited to come and star in their new moviescript (as myself). How could I refuse…

I understand the official premiere was at Cinepeter some time ago, when I was off relaxing in France. Too bad I couldn’t be there. Anyway, here it is.  I’m quite honoured to now be part of the Bubbelebim omniverse. Don’t forget to check the entire body of De Bubbelebim‘s extensive oeuvre when you’re done watching this gem!

J’ee-haw! no more

Jeannette and me decided it was time to let go of J’ee-haw!, our collaborative art project moniker. There haven’t been any new J’ee-haw! projects since 2005 and 5 years of coma should be enough to pull the plug… right?

I’m now taking steps to take down the J’ee-haw! website and release the jee-haw.nl domain. All J’ee-haw! projects are also archived on this website, just do a jee-haw search.

De Tanker, smeerolie voor Amsterdam

detanker

Last Friday, my friend Arthur van Beek handed me the virgin edition (download pdf) of DE TANKER, his very own newspaper. That actually makes him the editor in chief and art director of DE TANKER. And I think it looks great! Feels and smells like a real newspaper too. It is supposed to be some sort of lubricant for the city of Amsterdam and it’s somewhat focussed on the Amsterdam North harbour area (NDSM docks). I don’t know about all that, but it does make for some excellent inspiring reading (I’m only halfway so far). He aims to release four editions the first year and six the second year. I hope he manages to do just that, given these critical newspaper times…

Yesterday Arthur caught me by surprise (again) when he asked me if I would be willing to become one of the writers for DE TANKER. I instantly happily accepted. He specifically asked for pieces about music. And to be bold and not affraid to stir things up… In my mind that kind of warped into writing inspirational pieces about my expertises and passions (not just about music). Not sure yet, what I can get away with here, but we’ll see. Anyway, the first edition should appear somewhere in 2010. Can’t wait.

boekje,
