Update
I’ve been taking things at a slightly slower pass for the last month to ensure I leave enough time for myself. And I like it a lot! That’s why I decided to plan periods like this more often… But of course this doesn’t mean that nothing is happening… so here’s a small update.
I’ve been invited to participate in a group exhibition in Kunstenlab, Deventer. The exhibition is named ‘Uncollectibles, onder de huid’ (Uncollectibles, under the skin) and is the counterpart of another exhibition in Deventer, named ‘Op de huid, Deventer kunst van 1945 – 2000′ (On the skin, Deventer art of 1945 – 2000). More information very soon, because the exhibition starts on the 7th of February.
In the coming month (and maybe the next one) I’m building three new websites for three different visual artists, intensively restructuring and redesigning the Havenkwartier website, the esc.rec. website and probably this website too.
Once the esc.rec. website has moved to a new host (this operation had some delay due to technical problems with the previous host, but could happen anyday now), esc.rec. release nr. 21 is scheduled. And more releases are lined up right behind nr.21, so it might actually be a small wave of esc.rec. releases. Who knows.
Other activities include rethinking the disfunctional organizing structure of Havenkwartier Deventer with a small group of other Havenkwartier participants, programming and promoting some new ass-crack stage-hacks and my contribution to a festival.

Deventer 2030
I was asked by the city of Deventer to think about my vision of Deventer in 2030 (as were nine other artists from Deventer). I decided to incorporate my label esc.rec. in this vision. For now you can read more on this temporary page (also in dutch). More info wil be added really soon. It’s going to be an exciting new project and release!

Just a short overview of what I’m working on…
I’m very pleased to have been asked by Claire Bolt to design and build a complete interior for Bebolt, her new shop at Nieuwstraat 30, Deventer. She really liked the design I did for KunstGoud. Claire Bolt is a fashion designer (check out her Super Sonic Hoodie above) and her brand new shop opens on the 4th of October… that means I have to work hard to make the deadline!
I’m working on several new websites right now. For some of them I’m designing the whole thing, for others I’m just building as instructed. They’ll show up here when they’re finished.
A new esc.rec. release is currently in production. Number 21 already! This time it won’t be free like the last three esc.rec. releases and has quite elaborate artwork again. Apricot My Lady! A lot of other esc.rec. releases are in the pipeline, but more on that later…
And the next ass-crack stage-hack is also coming up. The 17th of October it’s time for ass-crack stage-hack #4, with three concerts by Machinefabriek, Soccer Committee, Jan & Romke Kleefstra and Wouter van Veldhoven. All this is preceded by a fabulous meal in the best ass-crack stage-hack tradition, prepared by Jean Klare, the amazing graphic designer cook. Really looking forward to this one!

Holiday
I’m taking some time off to enjoy the rural splendor and kids entertainment skills of Ommen. I will be back in office on the 28th of July.
