Website for Museum van de Muskusrat

Just finished building this website for Museum van de Muskusrat, a project by Martina Florians and Sasker Scheerder. The graphic design was skillfully executed by Bas Mantel. I used a combination of WordPress and the Google Maps API to build this website, and am very pleased with the result!

Some more images and mp3′s will be added to the website in the next couple of days. Museum van de Muskusrat opens on June 18 and is part of ‘Een dijk van een kust’. Check more info here.

Oh, and my son Hobbe (7) actually participates in this project as a skull expert. He made a colorstudy in animation clay of a muskrat skull. Proud father.

Website for Patrick Mangnus

patrickmangnus

Some time ago, I finished designing and building this website for visual artist Patrick Mangnus. It’s another WordPress powered website. Patrick has a huge amount of archived documentation for his website and today he felt like he had uploaded enough to have it launched. But there’s much more to come! So if you’re interested in his work, check back often or subscribe to his RSS feed.

The website for Dear Loup is online: www.dearloup.nl. Dear Loup is Floor Coolsma, making nice things for you and (your) kids. Her products make excellent gifts for young parents!

Havenkwartier 2.0

Some time ago the server that hosted the Havenkwartier website crashed, destroying the whole thing, including all back-ups… Luckily I had also made some back-ups myself, so not everything was lost…

I decided to treat this as an opportunity. I came up with a new and improved version of the Havenkwartier website. The whole thing still runs on WordPress, but it now needs less work to add events and update the archives. Participants have more control over the way their personal profile is displayed and there are many more small improvements throughout the site. Plus – very important -  (database) back-ups are now automated ;)

I’m still gradually working on completing the archives, integrating external services like Flickr, Vimeo, YouTube, Twitter, etc… and any other improvements I can come up with.

Update 1: I’m now officially a sponsor of Havenkwartier Deventer. Which means I am going to develop new stuff for the further improvement of the Havenkwartier website on my own initiative and in my own time. Kind of an experiment. Trying it out for a year to see how this works.

Update 2: Integrated Flickr and Twitter in the Havenkwartier website.
