After almost a full year of radio silence esc.rec. continues the line of adventurous and often intimate concerts by popular demand. That makes this the 11th edition of the ass-crack stage-hack in Havenkwartier Deventer.
The brothers Kleefstra performed here before in an earlier edition of ass-crack stage-hack, then together with Machinefabriek and Soccer Committee. That was such an impressive performance that esc.rec. cordially invited them back again. This time, the Frisian poetry of Jan Kleefstra and soundscapes of guitarist Romke Kleefstra are combined with the enchanting sound of renowned bass clarinetist Gareth Davis (UK).
The second concert of the evening is provided by Bela Emerson (UK). She plays (electric) cello with a fascinating virtuosity. Her solo performances are very intense and exciting. Using electronics and effects, this lady from Brighton builds layers of rhythm and sound, making use of every part of her instrument.

I just finished building a new website for Klassiek Raggen (Bob Fosko and Kollektief Roest & Wrakhout). It felt like a privilege to be on the front row at the first public performance in Merleyn, where the above video was shot. Weird nostalgia.
The website is based on the same template as the previous websites I have built for other productiehuis ON productions. Which means this too is a WordPress based website with a lot of automated action going ON. Looks basic, but a lot of the content is imported through feeds, which makes updating relatively low maintenance.
Andries Heidema, the mayor of Deventer officially re-opens KunstGoud on March 6, 13:00 hrs. The new KunstGoud interior is designed by Kasper Spormann and me.
The previous website of Havenkwartier Deventer was primarily aimed at art and culture in the area and the creative businesses based there. Now that the development of the Havenkwartier area is getting up to steam, there was a need for more.
On www.havenkwartierdeventer.com you’ll find (in addition to plenty of art & culture) more information about living and working in Havenkwartier Deventer. You can also reach the ‘Culture’ section of this new website through the old domain www.havenkwartier.org.
We now say goodbye to the previous corporate identity of Havenkwartier Deventer, designed by Bart Folmer and also to the previous website, developed by me. The new corporate identity is co-created by: Bestwerk, Studio Wonder and Studio Bart Folmer. The new website was built by Dicode. I have only been instrumental in the development of the new website and in the decision-making process of the corporate identity.
This means I am no longer in charge of the technical aspects of the Havenkwartier website, but I am however still in charge of (half of the) content. I am now officially editor for the Culture and Recreation sections of the new website. The other editor is the municipality of Deventer. I also have (a very limited amount of) time to spend on communication and marketing for these sections.
I updated my website to include information about my activities as certified Kunstenaarcoach. There’s now a new section in the columns on the right which refers to a dedicated page with more information (only in Dutch for now) and has a feed of posts in my Kunstenaarcoach category.
It’s very likely that I’ll report about my recent coaching sessions with Energiekracht soon in a joint press release with Hans Kostense, owner of Energiekracht.
Art is a way to engage people. To accomplish this best, I develop and combine my expertise and skills in different area's. I readily explore new territory if needed.
Best of both worlds. I can look at a website from a design point of view AND from a technical point of view. I often collaborate with other artists, designers or developers.
